Paint and Pals

This post features student writing.

Hello all!

Today was our second to last day in Nyamata. We started our morning with going to AVEH for the last time. The 20-meter hole is almost complete, and we did the usual digging and hanging out with the kids. Below is the picture of all the kids at AVEH. After a quick break for lunch back at the guesthouse, we went to CECHE for our last working day (tomorrow we present our chairs). There, we painted our completed chairs to the liking of the specific child, adding some extra pizzazz along the way. Ella and Amelia painted a light blue chair with the hand prints of CECHE staff all over. Alex and Katie painted a light green and dark green chair with flowers on the outside and inside. Taji and Alana painted a red and blue chair in the style of a car, with a license plate and all! Finally, Izzy and Georgia painted their chair all sorts of colors and made little cat paws on the sides and foot-rest. As I said earlier, tomorrow we present our chairs to the respective family and child before preparing for an early morning drive to Musanze on Sunday morning. Ta-ta until then!
